About the project
We really think that yoga should be known and spread to anyone as a chance for a healthy and conscious life. This is why in February 2022 we decided to open our studio in Modica, with daily classes open to everyone.
“The Yoga House” is held by Martina, an authorized yoga teacher with a 400 hrs Yoga Alliance teacher training and more than 10 years of self practice. She will guide you with kindness and care through this journey across the Yoga path.
CLASSES
HATHA SHIVANANDA
The method of Hatha Yoga is based on slow and aware movements through the breath.
Postures are held for a long time, keeping the breath calm and the mind steady. The whole being become stronger and relaxed at the same time, getting free of physical and emotional tensions and learning to listen to the inner voice. The class ends with a deep relaxation in Shavasana to help the nervous system calm down.
POSTURAL YOGA
Yoga postures (Asana) and conscious breathing (Pranayama) can be really helpful for our body posture.
Postural diseases are often related to muscles weakness and a lack of proprioception, as well as to emotional matters. This is why Yoga, acting both on outer and inner body, is very effective. I twill give us the tools to really improve our posture and living a healthier life.
Postural Yoga classes are open to any level of practice.
ASHTANGA YOGA
Ashtanga Yoga is a kind of dynamic Hatha Yoga. This practice consist of different series, in which postures follows a specific order. Movement is connected with breath through a continuous flow that helps to keep the mind focused on the present.
Although it can seems a physically demanding practice, Ashtanga Yoga is actually very meditative and calming. As the body gets srtonger and more flexible, so is the breath and the mind.
Ashtanga, in fact, means “eight limbs”, as the steps described to Patanjali for a path through yoga. The physical practice is just one of them, the other being directed towards the inner space to develope a deeper connection with our true self.
MINDFUL YOGA
Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is a program that aim to help in case of emotional problems that affect mental and body condition.
Mindful meditations, body awareness and yoga techniques are joined together for a complete work, focused on grounding to the “here and now” to restore the connection with the self.
A sweet practice suitable for everyone.
VINYASA YOGA
Vinyasa is a dynamic style of Yoga that works on the connection between breath and movement.
You will learn to flow through the poses along sequences that are tought to explore the body and its multiple responses to the amount of inputs received.
This will allow the nervous and cardio respiratory system to be stimulated sparking a deep action on the mind, making it calm and concentrated.
